  • What it helps you do

A practical review of your Google Business Profile, categories, photos, services, reviews, and location language.
For many customers, Google is the front door to your business. Your profile needs to help people find you, understand you, trust you, and take action before they ever reach your website.

1. Business information

  • □ The business name matches the name used publicly and on your signage.

  • □ The address, service area, phone number, and website are correct.

  • □ Regular and special hours are current.

  • □ The map pin points to the correct entrance or location.

  • □ The profile is verified and controlled by the business owner or authorized manager.

2. Categories and description

  • □ The primary category describes the business as specifically as Google allows.

  • □ Relevant secondary categories are added without stretching beyond what the business actually provides.

  • □ The business description explains what you offer, who you serve, and where you are located.

  • □ Important local terms are included naturally.

  • □ The description avoids slogans, keyword stuffing, and claims that cannot be verified.

3. Products and services

  • □ Core services or product categories are listed.

  • □ Descriptions explain what each service includes and who it is for.

  • □ Prices or starting prices are included when helpful.

  • □ Seasonal offers and outdated services are reviewed regularly.

  • □ The profile points customers to the correct page for booking, ordering, or learning more.

4. Photos and visual proof

  • □ The logo and cover photo are current and recognizable.

  • □ The profile includes real exterior and interior photos.

  • □ Customers can see products, services, rooms, food, work, or experiences before visiting.

  • □ New photos are added throughout the year.

  • □ Images accurately represent what customers will experience.

5. Reviews and reputation

  • □ The business has a simple process for requesting reviews from real customers.

  • □ Recent reviews appear regularly instead of arriving only in occasional bursts.

  • □ The business responds professionally to positive and negative reviews.

  • □ Responses sound human and do not repeat the same template.

  • □ Recurring praise or complaints are used to improve the business and its messaging.

6. Customer action

  • □ The call, website, directions, booking, menu, or order links work.

  • □ The correct landing page is used instead of sending everyone to the homepage.

  • □ Messages or questions are monitored when those features are enabled.

  • □ Common questions are answered clearly.

  • □ Profile performance is reviewed for searches, calls, website visits, directions, and bookings.

Scorecard

  • Give yourself one point for each checked item.

    25–30: Strong local visibility foundation.
18–24: Findable, but important trust or action gaps remain.
10–17: Customers may be seeing incomplete or inconsistent information.
0–9: Rebuild the profile basics before spending money to drive more traffic.

Next Step

  • Your next move

Fix accuracy first, then improve categories, services, photos, reviews, and action links in that order.
